With the ‘knife-edge’ design of these spectacular lighting troughs, requiring extremely thin edges without the typical lack of strength normally associated with such members, prefabricated GRG was the perfect solution for this project.
Modern feature ceilings are usually produced by Glass Reinforced Gypsum (GRG). The dense nature of this material and the tensile strength of the fibres allow the production of thin, lightweight sections. These are visually attractive and give us the ability to produce perfect curves with flush finishes. Moulds are made by hand in our factory and cast from these to give perfectly smooth and defined features such as lighting troughs. Specialist craftsmen are then used on site to fix the casts together and create a seamless ceiling.
George Jackson Limited offers a full design, manufacture and installation service to produce GRG. This can be for bespoke feature ceilings, column casings and a range of other plaster details used for interior decoration.
